The Evaluation of Biosequence Clustering Algorithms in a High-Performance Computing Environment

The primary focus of research for this project is to evaluate and compare biosequence clustering algorithms in a high-performance computing environment. The algorithms studied in this project, are various implementations of the Needleman-Wunsch algorithm. These algorithms are used for the classification of sequences to compare the chromosomes in a genome. High-performance computing techniques are implemented to align sequences across a data set (sequence reads).. These comparisons will be evaluated by utilizing an application constructed using the C# programming language in Visual Studio Professional.
